Vasa Previa Walk 2010

Today was the annual Vasa Previa Walk fundraiser for the International Vasa Previa Foundation. All around the nation and world, families who have been affected by Vasa Previa organize walks in honor/remembrance of their babies.

During my pregnancy with Will, a specialist found that he had Vasa Previa. To read our story click here. Will's umbilical cord did not attach to the center of the placenta as it should. Instead it was inserting into the edge and was in the way of the cervix. If I would have gone into labor naturally by either my water breaking or dilating, the blood vessels would have been ruptured causing extreme loss of the babies blood. A C-section at 35 weeks saved Will's life

We had our walk today at San Elijo State Beach. With family and friends we went on a nice long walk (in the warm sun!) had lunch, and played at the beach.

If anyone would like to still donate to the International Vasa Previa Foundation to promote awareness and education on Vasa Previa, donations of any size are appreciated. Please contact me with directions on how you can help

Not all donations have yet to be accounted for, but even with what I have already, we raised over $1,000 for Vasa Previa!!  Thank you to all of you who contributed
