I had bought these fake pumpkins and a pumpkin painting kit (brush, paints, and stencils) at the dollar store.
The stencils were too big for the pumpkins, but that was ok because they would have been too hard for the boys to use on a non flat surface even if the boys did want to use them. So I saved those to use some other time. The paint colors were pastels... not really what I was picturing for pumpkins, but the boys didn't care.
Westley isn't big on representational art so I figured he would just paint any which way, but he actually made a pumpkin face. He colored two purple eyes, a yellow nose and a green smile. Then he wanted to make designs on the rest of it. Will got a kick out of painting the stem.
