Color Mixing in a Plastic Bag

I've done this activity with other children in the past, but finally got around to doing it with my boys. We were talking about what colors it took to make green and purple, so I got out our tote of paints and let them experiment. This is a great activity because it is mess free!

I didn't expect this, but the boys loved it. They wanted to make more and more bags. After about 30 minutes and 10 bags I stopped them, but they would have kept on going.

Using quart size ziploc bags works best as the sandwich bags are not as sturdy. I added a little shaving cream in with the paint and it made it easier for them to mush the paints together and it lighted the colors a little bit.
