Red Light, Green Light

Today we played Red Light, Green Light in the backyard. Classic and simple. Westley has played before, so he knew just how to do it. I think Will understood, but sometimes chose to do his own thing.
Westley and I took turns calling the lights or being the one to stride across the yard.
He thought is was extra hilarious when I called silly lights like "Purple Light!"

Painting Rocks

When were camping at the beach, we gathered some rocks from the beach.
Today we painted them.
I was surprised how interested the boys were in painting these. They kept adding paint for 20 minutes until I had to stop them for bath/bed time (with a promise that we could do this again)
Luckily, we have many more beach trips planned so we can get more rocks

Gma Martha's Bday

We brought dinner and spent the afternoon with Grandma at her house today in honor of her birthday.
Westley wanted to make her a Birthday Crown, and it turned out great!
He also made her a decorated container. Westley cut strips of paper and I helped him write his favorite things about his Grandma on them.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Christmas in July Fair

Today we went to a Christmas in July Fair in Oceanside near the mission.
The carnival part didn't open until the afternoon, a promised Santa was MIA, and the booths of homemade candles and weird jewelry bored the boys.
Things turned out ok once we found a jump house and big inflatable slide!
I spent a long time helping Will in the jumper, Westley loved the big slide and went down it like 15 times.

After that we left and went and had lunch at Ruby's on the pier

Cow Dress Up

Today was the Chick-fil-A's annual Cow appreciation day. Dress up like a cow and get a free meal.
I convinced Kevin that crawling up into the attic to get out one of my old Halloween costumes would be worth the free food, and the enjoyment the boys would get out of it.

They liked dressing up, and of course playing at Chick-fil-A
Westley (like me) loves their Chicken Egg Bagel Breakfast Sandwich. Sounds weird but it is really good.

Westley was cute- he brought a picture he drew this morning to give to the mascot cow. That's the first picture he self initiatively drew for someone!

Animal Game

Kevin liked this game, it was an easy way to play - didn't even have to get off the couch!
Both boys hid under a blanket with Kevin. I would sneak up with a stuffed animal in hand and "attack" them with the animal while making it's animal sound.

One of those activities that is so easy, but they loved it!

4th July Camping Trip

We spent almost a week camping with up to 19 family members at San Elijo State beach.
I didn't take that many pictures - with three 1 year olds and two 4 year olds we had our hands full. But they all had a great time (even though the weather was too gloomy)

Driving and navigating in Aunt Cheryl's motorhome

We had two sunny days on the beach!
